Shelly Rothwell Round
Shelly Rothwell created her own challenge. This consisted of a 10.5 mile swim, 110 mile cycle & a 67 mile fell run, in one go! A 57-hour ultra triathlon.
Noticing that all epic challenges are named after men (Bob Graham, Fred Whitton), she wanted to create one of her own, bigger and better.
This epic challenge was captured on film, and the documentary is being showcased at the 2026 Kendal Mountain Festival. To help tell the story, they required maps illustrating the routes, which is where I came in. Shelly’s love for pink is prominent throughout the challenge, so this became an important part of the maps’ visual identity.
